Our 30th anniversary

It’s been a really big day. We’ve done lots and also the T20 final between Pakistan and England!

We started off the day with a big breakfast and then headed down to Byron Bay to see Australia’s eastern most tip. The extra photo is at that point at the lighthouse.

We then drove to the centre of the town at Byron Bay, and had coffee and a piece of yummy macadamia cheesecake.

Our hotel has given us a 7 day pass to the tallest building in Australia which happens to be located on the Gold Coast, so next stop was back to the Gold Coast to Sky Point Observation Deck.

We really enjoyed our time up there and did get some bubbly to celebrate our special anniversary. The nice thing about this building was that you could actually hang out there, instead of being rushed to take your pics and get down again. We really took our time there and enjoyed the 360 degree views from the 77th floor.

Back to our hotel to watch the start of the T20 final with much eagerness but also had dinner plans. We were quite torn as to whether we should leave or not but I also wanted to replicate the meal we used to have when we were dating in Dubai. I had booked a restaurant that turned out to be excellent! Very pleased we were … and I did have my phone on so we could keep up with the cricket.

Back to our hotel again and to finally be able to watch the match … but sadly Pakistan was not able to keep up their excellent performance. What a shame, good effort though.

And that was our 30th anniversary. .. from the easternmost point in Oz, to the highest point in Oz … and then a sad loss in the cricket. A fun day it was.
