Soggy

Today: a very wet and cold day. After a morning visit to the docs for dad, a warming hot choc at the Chocolate Quarter cafe, passing this rather soggy postbox topper. Then this afternoon a visit to the vets for Toffee who has at last put on some weight, 150g! A quietish day, all very tired after yesterday.

Yesterday: a very emotional day. Torrential rain all morning but dried up just before we followed Mum to the church. 122 people came to say goodbye to Mum. Just as the vicar said the blessing at the end of the service, the sun appeared and shone down on Mum. Throughout the service a bee was happily enjoying Mum’s flowers, her favourite poem read at the service being The Lake Isle of Innisfree, a poem full of bees. On the way to the crematorium it started to rain a little, but then a beautiful rainbow appeared in front of us. As the vicar said the final prayer the sun appeared between the clouds and shone down into the chapel. At the wake, people said what a lovely service it had been, and remarked on how the sun had magically appeared, and the rainbow. All went well.

Thank you so very much for your kindness and support over the last few difficult days.
