St Mary's Market and Friand's

K., and I took a walk into town to the Edinburgh Market at Leith Street/Broughton Street. We tried some pulled pork rolls from Jones & Son; amazing sweet dumplings from Knight's Kitchen and other Afro-Caribbean cuisine and this amazing cake!

Its made by The Friand Cake Company and the chocolate and chilli was my favourite one that I sampled =) the are so light, fluffy and just melt in your mouth - I'd defo recommend if you get the chance! The lady that makes them is more than happy to chat about the different combinations that she makes.

K., was initially a little reluctant to be dragged round a market - but significantly perked up when he found out food was involved! Think we will be visiting more often.
