First I did four hours of office work in my sleepwear.
Then I went to Ryman's to get refills for my special pen. 
The specialist pen suppliers had told me it takes a standard Parker-style G2 refill but they were plainly mistaken. Happily, the staff at Ryman's were able to help me. One of the counter-staff was beside himself with excitement about my pen, so I gave him details of how and where to buy one for his special person and he almost kissed my feet with the joy of having his Xmas gift dilemma resolved.
Next, a little mooch around the town centre where I found these two dancing beautifully on a stage that I assume had been erected for the turning on of the Xmas lights later in the day. A shame about spots of rain on the lens, and then it was time to meet my pals in a cafe for coffee.
As usual, lots of fun and mirth, and after we had spent a couple of hours together, some of us went to see Dave the Mayor turn the lights on. Out of silliness we asked Dave for a group shot, which he happily obliged. One of the group was perplexed about why we might want a group photo with the Mayor and so I explained patiently that it was equivalent to getting a shot with Pluto at Disneyland.
