Raise those glasses

This weekend has been a long time in the planning. J has a zoom call every two weeks with three of her best friends, who all live in different parts of England and Wales and nowhere near us. We all started at university 50 years ago, so the meet up was a bit of a celebration. They had booked to stay in a caravan three miles from our site, and to help protect J took LFT’s two days running and wore masks.

Meeting up with friends is something we haven’t done in a long time, and we wondered how this was going to work. As it’s turned out, with my cold I’m the greatest risk to J. So we’ve brought both cars up to Holly, and today I’ve played a back room role. I bought provisions this morning from Booths, and made lunch for us all to have outside our caravan lodge when they had finished their morning’s walk. Fortunately the sun shone and it remained dry, so lunch outside worked. They all commented how warm the side of our caravan felt, it’s south facing and warms quickly in the sunshine. After lunch they all went off to Arnside to enjoy the remaining light, and I sorted things out here.

My cold is improving, but we’re still taking lots of care. All the usual precautions, tiresome but very necessary. And most importantly, everyone’s had a good day.
