Christmas Reflections

This morning we collected the lovely daughter from the airport and went into the city to have coffee at the Riverside Market.  The passing parade was very colourful and diverse.  Richmond seems very provincial.  From there we could walk to the hospital and visit my sister.  No change with her but she does has permission to leave hospital and attend the funeral on Tuesday.  She may even be able to get her haircut at the hospital.  When we got there a man patient was sitting next to her.  It turns out he was the manager of the garage that had serviced her car for years.  Only my sister can make these connections.  The last time she was in hospital she met the man who was the son of our grandmothers butcher.  I guess it helps to have lived in the same city all your life.  As we left the nurse said when we get a spare bed we will move her along to a quieter spot.
Then it was walk to find some lunch and a look at a few shops.  The blip is one of Ballantyne's Christmas window displays.  It is a department store and each window had a different theme.
The lovely daughter was dropped off at a friends where she will stay for the week.  She is able to work out of the Christchurch office this week.
A good day all round.
