A Work In Progress

It was a soggy drive south but no dramas for us.  In the extra is a sight I haven't come across before.  A cycle tour with 500 participants are taking four days to cross three mountain passes from the east coast to the west and back again.  They were in bunches and it didn't look like 500 came towards us.  The traffic behind them must have been frustrated at times.  It is a narrow highway.  I hope the weather improves for them.
Once in Christchurch we visited my sister in hospital.  She is her usual self but with a layer of grief which is understandable.  She is in a large open ward.  At the end of her bed attached to the ceiling is an electronic board which pings and flashes when a patient presses their bell.  I found it most annoying and it's no wonder she isn't getting any sleep.
Leaving the city to find our motel we passed areas that have still not be rebuilt on after the earthquake.
