Virginia Vacation ...

… Day 7.

Usually on our last day of vacation we normally stay close to our resort but not this time!  We simply had to go back to the Potomac River to see if we could find some eagles … and potentially find some shark teeth.  Well we did see some eagles but didn’t find the right spot of looking for shark teeth!

Our destination was Aquia Landing.  We were only there for about 30 minutes before returning to Fredericksburg.  Along the way we stopped at Crows Nest Park for a short walk and where I got this picture of an Eastern Wood Peewee.

While in Fredericksburg we visited a wonderful place on the campus of Mary Washington University called Gari Melchers Home and Studio.  We spent about 90 minutes here walking some of the trails.

On the way back to our resort we stopped along the Rappahannock River to enjoy the views … please see Extra photo.   The second Extra is of our home for the week … cabin #80!

We stopped back at the cabin before deciding on a place to eat dinner.  We had a lovely meal at Clearwater Fire & Grill.  And afterwards Richard wanted to stop at the Chancellorsville Battlefield Visitors Center as we didn’t spend a lot of time there earlier this week.  At this site are monuments and markings for where Stonewall Jackson was shot (by his own troops) during the Civil War and Richard wanted to get some pictures.
