Bronze Age Sunshine

The winds started to ease, with a flat calm evening.  Mostly sunny all day, broken with clouds passing over.  There has been some showers too.  A right cold day and night.

Up early, a morning around the house before getting ready for work.  Late shift in the airport today, and mostly been working on the check-in desk.  A steady day of passengers.  Most flights in and out on time, apart from Inverness, which was delayed due to frozen fog.  A fine lazy evening at home, Sammy can't even be bothered with walkies.

After what felt like a lifetime of gales, it was a pleasure to get out for a brisk walk at lunchtime.  Jarlshof always fascinates me, no matter how many times I visit.  Incredible to think people lived in these dwelling up to 6,000 years ago.  These remains are from the Bronze Age, with some in the foreground from the Iron Age.  The big building behind is the Laird's house, dating to the 17th century.  Taken at Jarlshof, Sumburgh.
