Ornamental Fountain . . .

We have all the sites in Rippingale, but not as spectacular as eight or nine years ago.

All contained as best as practical now, but still forcing its way out when we have heavy rain.  Its still running off the fields and the beck/dykes  are full and flowing hard.

Unfortunately this side of Rippingale the surface water and foul sewage run together – the massive problem that all the water companies have.  Not allowed now on new developments, but the Victorians put a heck of a lot in.  When we get heavy rain the sewage works just overflow and there is nothing that can be done without billions of pounds spent on new sewers.  The water board should never have been privatised, but serves them right for taking it on – easy bucks in their eyes they thought.  (That was a  bit of a rant . . .)

Bit of video of this morning here, and a blip from eight years ago with a link to this corner taken nine years ago here.

A bit of a stretch for dereliction, but the sewage system in most of this country is, so I’m tagging it for Derelict Sunday.  I may wind up with two entries this week – well I hope so.
