Astonishing

We’ve seen Bellowhead several times in the past and really enjoyed every minute of every performance. We were all very sad when they decided to call it a day. Then they reformed for 2022 and we saw them in Newcastle tonight. Absolutely brilliant. A line up of eleven highly talented musicians creating the most amazing sounds . . . and jumping around the stage at the same time. The show included a tribute to a valued member Paul Sartin who died a month or two ago - very moving. My blip shows the line up in one of its set ups, but conveys nothing of the incredible energy and enthusiasm of each and every musician.

What a night!

And in complete contrast, this morning we went into Newcastle to the Laing Gallery to see the Lindisfarne Gospels exhibition, which includes the actual Gospels on loan from the British Library. We have seen most of what was on display at one time or another, but it was good to see it all put together like this, especially with the superb evocation of the the history of the Gospels in sound and vision. I have added a photo as an extra. I was alerted to this exhibition by Munroist and she provides a much more detailed description of the exhibition here: https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3021895356666348798

We are now in Whitley Bay at the Premier Inn right by the sea and it is very late.
