10 Years Old

Nani turned 10 today.  She was back home mid-afternoon and the fun could begin.  At the end of the day, although it was just about 19.30, she was already sorry that it all went so fast, the party at school notwithstanding.  Here she is with her cake, but Son and Rani had prepared a large pot of vegetable soup as well, sandwiches, and healthy plates of fingerfoods -- cucumbers, tomatoes, radish, and cheese blocks.  No chips or crisps, no chocolate.  AW and I had already discovered that all our grandchildren love fruit.  During AW's 70th, when we went to that restaurant with a generous buffet, fruit was the very first thing they went for.  Not the ice cream, nor the tarts, but fruit.  Nani has been predicted to grow to be as tall as her father.  I think she will be.

While we were there, The Netherlands played their World Championship game against Senegal -- we won 2-0, so a good result.
