One of those patchy days that seemed to keep us busy doing nothing in particular, scooting round garden centres and bargain DIY emporiums trying to find something else to do other than the decorating which we'd promised ourselves we'd start today.

Managed to bag the services of Owietastic (brother-in-law stroke self-taught plasterer stroke handyman extraordinaire) for sometime in June, so bigbadholeinthewall should be done and dusted in time for summer.
