Kirkby Lonsdale

A busy day today so while I was out at my Alpha Course The Man had sandwiches ready for a quick lunch. Our aim was to be at Kirkby Lonsdale in time for a Cumbria Wildlife Trust meeting about beavers. We have a great interest in beavers as they are being trialed on private land near us and we are interested in how they alleviate flooding.

We had shopping to do on the way so we stopped off at Kirkby Stephen and bought lovely new pillows for the lodge. After a cup of coffee and some panettone, we headed off to Kirkby Lonsdale, hoping to get some photos on the way. Well, it absolutely poured down, the sky went dark then all three lanes of traffic on the M6 ground to a halt. Thankfully we were only stationary for 20 minutes but by the time we got to KL the weather was bad so we headed into The Snooty Fox for more coffee.

We had a little walk around the town and took a few street shots with our mobiles, rather than getting out the DSLRs. It was then time to go back into The Snooty Fox for a meal.

The talk on beavers was very informative and we're told another fairly local landowner may offer a new pair the chance to build a lodge on his waterway. I'm looking forward to hearing more about that.

And, yes, now I'm back at home I wish I'd not been so lazy and actually got out the Canon!
