Stonehaven views

The booming waves on Stonehaven's pebbly beach seem to scare Berry so I went out alone to get a picture of the wheeling gulls and heaving seas this morning. We didn't rush to leave as Chris's hot date at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary wasn't until 2pm, so we had a good walk through Dunnottar Woods with Berry (her perfect place - so many scents and pine cones to point out for throwing!) and then parked at the harbour end of the town to heat up some soup, make a coffee and watch even more dramatic waves.  The harbour was very full of water at a high tide as we left, in the rain.

Chris's appointment shone a bit of light onto a chronic lung condition that's only been properly investigated since we moved north. He's had it for 20+ years so he's not expecting any miracles but it's frustrating that it wasn't sorted earlier as the ongoing hassles he deals with might have been ameliorated, maybe.

Tonight we're at a little campsite near Banchory.  A rushing burn down a steep sided valley that's adjacent to the site apparently burst its banks last week and nearly took away some camping pods that are a little lower down than we are. The owner said he's never seen anything like it in all his many years there.  So hard for small businesses when things like this happen - reminds me of the flooding in Shrewsbury a few years back now. Nowhere is really safe.
