Dunfermline

A reasonably gentle journey from the campsite near Glasgow over to Stonehaven today, so we stopped by Dunfermline.  Sadly the church, partially made up of the old Abbey choir, was closed (I did know this but was hopeful - ah well!). But we had a good stroll around the adjoining park, admired Andrew Carnegie's statue staring up the main drag from his park position, and had a pleasant wander around. I have to say that I was expecting more ruins at the Abbey and had banked on a good hour's looking round but there was little to see from the excretory and the place was closed for lunch.  No amount of research had told me that!

Yesterday was very dull; a drive up the M6 from Lichfield to Glasgow which felt rather long due to the weather and traffic conditions. No pictures were taken!

And the day before that was just a quiet day's pottering with S&D, with C helping D put up some shelves and me off with S to do some food shopping and then a couple of minor bits of assistance. After parking on their drive for two nights we used a CL campsite by a pub near Rugeley which was fine (might be different in peak season though - a bit close to the pub and its outdoor bar/children's playground!).
