Compton Verney

We met our friends Liz and Genny at Compton Verney this morning.  Coffee first then we went round one of the exhibitions being held currently.  This was some of the work of the artist Reena Saini Kallat.  She uses painting, tapestry, rubber stamps plus barbed wire and electronics to visualise the world and parts of the world by giving a political view of border conflict, disease, immigration and war in her works of art.

The picture collage comprises three of her works. One she made of the world, upside down, part of a run of ten tapestries she made writing out that country's constitution, ranging from USA to North Korea and a barrier as used in an airport of rubber stamps.

It was a very thought provoking exhibition.

This was followed by lunch in their restaurant and a quick look at the second exhibition,  Dutch Flowers, painted in the 16 and 1700s, the detail was exquisite.
