Miroslav Lucan (Lucan Art)

This is another of our local creatives. My two favourites are Miroslav Lucan of Lucan Art and Krishna Malla of Tech Moon. They both do so much to enhance our local art scene. Not to forget our very own iconic Stuart Semple, a well established artist, with a huge energy, who is responsible for the Giant Art Space in Bobby’s department store, and for bringing a great art installation to The Triangle a few weeks ago. They all have Facebook pages.

We had our apartment block’s AGM this morning in a nearby hotel, 10 am to 1130. Then we met C for a coffee in town and had a good catch up.

Then started chatting to a charming Maltese couple sitting next to us. They were visiting English friends here. They are always impressed when I count 1-10 in Maltese. We only learnt a handful of the lingo as they all speak excellent English, albeit usually with a heavy accent. We spent several years travelling backwards and forwards to our beloved Gozo (the smaller island, with a much quieter character, and no airport) where we had a second home, sold 20 years ago. Too hot for me much of the year, and the ferry across could be precarious in rough sea.

Walked into town. Buzzing, as the Xmas Market and Winter Wonderland are all in full swing. Noticed Lucan Art had an exhibition (open till Xmas) in the Avenue arcade, opposite Primark). Had to go in, and chatted with him. Lovely guy. Several local businesses have commissioned wall murals, decor from him. Could easily live with some of his works on my walls.

Wish we had a Tate Modern here. Any billionaires out there to sponsor one?
