High Rock

Tried hard to get a good photo of the kids lighting the first Advent candle in church this morning, not helped by the massive cross that is spending this week in our parish, as part of the preparations for the World Youth Day in Lisbon next year. Last seen here

Anyway, it's been relegated to an extra (I like the illumination on Padre Abrão's face), as we went for a new walk at the end of the day, climbing this amazing rock, with 360° views - of Luz, Mourão, Monsaraz, and the Lake all around. We were actually looking for signs of the Lousa Castle, which folk in the Adega had said was appearing out of the water. Think they must be wrong.

Gratefuls:
- all our kids and grandkids being together at our home church this morning; does make me happy
- delicious hamburger at Morango Bar for our lunch, chatting to Dona Teresa, and others
- the stunning post sunset colours on the clouds and Lake from our high vantage point on the rock, and the total silence, apart from gentle lapping of water
