The back door was taken away today, with the cooker scheduled for disconnection tomorrow, so I ameliorated the kitchen's chill a bit by cooking a bunch of stuff to enable microwave-based child-feeding for the next week or so, until either the new hob is connected or I give up waiting for IKEA to be restocked with their double portable induction hoblets and just get a single one. Whilst the new microwave has a grill function and could be used just sitting on a worktop it would not be an adequate replacement thing to heat up a stovetop coffee maker.
After the food was prepared the lack of a back door meant a few trips from the front door and around the whole house to get it into the freezer in the garage.
