After yesterday's dreich day it was a relief to see the sun. And get out for a walk up the road.

Then it was into planting our bulbs.

Except there is a problem. So here is a question for all gardening blippers:

Can you plant tulips if they have brown patches or spots on them?
I have Googled it and I can’t get a straight answer except the advice from some sites is to test the bulbs. If they sink they are good. If they float- throw them out.

They all floated.  These were ought from our local garden centre a few weeks ago. Others bought from the local supermarket are fine though these were not given the water test and they are now planted up in containers.

The all agreed on one thing: buy online if you want good quality bulbs.
