I wonder what Sir Walter thinks of the market?

Did the Edinburgh thing today. Caught the 44 into the city, had a wander round the Christmas market; everything on offer was either alcoholic, carb loaded or full of fat or all three and understandably expensive. Everything was being consumed with gusto.

We did have a ride on the big wheel which gave good views of the market, the castle, Princes Street, the Forth and Arthur’s Seat. See extras.

From there to Black Sheep coffee bar near the St James Quarter (adjacent to “The Turd”) then on to to the Guildford Arms for a drink or three. Always a pleasure to visit this pub, always a relief to find somewhere to sit down. That’s where we took on all our bad carbs. One beer on offer was a “Campervan Leith Pils - gluten free”

A long bus ride home on the 44 which stops every 100 yards or so on its long journey to Balerno.

Neither the beer, coffee or hot chocolate samples at Wittards had much effect on my glucose levels. I’m struggling to get my head around the impact of different foods, apart from porridge causing a spike which is mitigated by seeds and peanut butter. Five more days remain for wearing the monitor.
