Rubbing Elbows

This is the typical Friday shopping day at the Shuk (pronounced shook). This place is full of vendors who are hollering their best prices and since it is the day before the Sabbath, there will be nothing happening here tomorrow. Every shop is closed and this street will be empty. Today it is a noisy busy place, vendors need to clear all their produce as tomorrow this place will be empty.
Most of the shops are vegetables or eggs or fish/meat shops. Lots of nuts dried fruits and fresh fruit. It is also the least expensive place for these things in Jerusalem on a Friday.
It is a real joy to rub elbows with the people here.
