51st Birthday

The country I've called home since I was nine months old turned 51 today! We marked it having Ladies' Night drinks at the Sol Sky Bar. :))

I'm glad we got there early, as it was quite a different story when it got to the fireworks, which went off promptly at 8 PM. Everyone headed back to their cars all at the same time. This created a massive problem in a congested area with only one road in and out. G & I made the decision to sit it out in the hotel lobby until there was more of a chance to get out of the multi-storey car park without burning too much fuel.

Prior to that, we had a fairly relaxed day. I did nearly three hours of ironing (two weeks worth), and G tackled a cupboard in the kitchen that she didn't get to on her last round of decluttering.

We should have been celebrating Diane's birthday with her, but she got her days mixed up and remembered she was going to be at the Dubai Rugby 7s.
