Life in Sunny Dubai

It is December! We are in the last month of the year! 2022 began with the Omicron variant of Coronavirus, now we're all going around without masks (except G & me still wear them). It's been a tough year, but so glad that after years of struggling, I finally got a better deal at work. It's made the last few months very good. If it weren't for my high BP and lingering cough, I'd be in clover.

So, wanting to have a relaxed day but also not waste it, we had a lazy morning, going out for a drive closer to noon. We started out not sure where we were going. G said she didn't want to go South. She didn't want to go North either so that just left the East. I picked a park on the map that I hadn't heard of or seen before. It was on the E44, the road we used when doing G's visa runs.

Driving past it, it still looked under construction, so we continued along the road and ended up at the EXPO site. Wow. I must admit it was great to be there and see it again. It gave us the opportunity to do a reccy for January when we have visitors. The trip got better when we discovered our favourite restaurant on site was still open! ECCO is still cooking up quality pizzas in their specialist ovens that are ready in two minutes!

We walked around a bit of the site looking at the National Day events. I even got to hold a falcon! You can see a Christmas market being put together, so I hope we go back for that. We didn't stay long as I have loads to catch up on, and realistically, we are still tired from our colds and the craziness of the last few months.

My main picture is taken by G. She caught the birds flying past the dune - not a sight you see often. I enjoyed putting the collage together - sad to have to leave so many pics out.
