Greeting from Saimaa resort very near Russian border. The driving conditions got worse and worse nearing east. But we are here sate and sound.

I’m waiting for a salad and then it’s off to bed.

It’s very pretty outside but I too tired to go photograph anything at this hour.

They didn’t have reservations for us, but luckily the hotel wasn’t full and we both got rooms from the castle hotel which is my favourite. Big rooms with high ceilings in a lovely old building, which is nearly 100 years old.

The building used to be a mental institute for youngsters. It has also functioned as a war hospital when we last fought Russia. Lots of history here. Some very sad.
