A Day Worth Recording

By Cheeseminer

Light and Dark

A quick but moderately successful phone shot of the garden while putting some lights up today.  Nothing terribly dramatic - and lacking novelty I've hung pretty much exactly the same arrangement as for the last several years - though the number of bulbs on one bush dwindles year to year as it's a classic incandescent set that I keep expecting to throw out, but keep fixing / shortening.

The highlight of the day, however, was at the theatre this evening.  A performance of The Permanent Way by David Hare, an excoriating review of the effect of privatising the railways, in particular focussing on a series of major train crashes in the UK.

The words are verbatim from interviews from those directly affected, passengers, bereaved, police, management.  It's powerful stuff, with the heavy drama lightened with a few comedic moments.
