Parsnips

A good harvest of parsnips today. Last year, we left them in the ground too long and when we went to dig them up there was nothing there. I start to wash them before reading instructions that day to leave them dry and dirty for storage. So, they’re on the shelf drying off.

There are a few beetroot left to pull. And a head of celery that has been ravaged from below. Waiting for Kerry to arrive, I begin to shell the Canaletto beans. There will be a good few stews with them.

For tea we make chicken soup. Leek, onion, garlic, celery, potato. Chicken stock from Fridays carcass. And the left over carrots. A sprinkle of five spice and that’s dinner.
