Belle Isle, Windermere with the woodland of Claife Heights behind. The house was built in the late 18th century and is still a private residence.

A late start for me. I’m usually awake and up at 6 o’clock but today it was 8. After a load of laundry and some Christmas card writing (three more that I decided to post) I changed my mind about walking down the hill and drove to Windermere for some shopping (stopping briefly by the local post box). Impressed at my willpower putting no alcohol, biscuits or chocolate in the trolley.

Afterwards, because it was cold enough to keep the chilled food at a low temperature (it was 6°C outside), I drove down to Bowness and had a short walk around Cockshott Point.
