Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Again!

I drove out to visit my sister in law, as my Big Brother was having a heart bypass today. He was rushed in to hospital last week, so that’s pretty good work, NHS! Makes me think of my dear mum, who had angina and died in her early 70s. Amazing what they can do nowadays (40 years on…).

When I came back, JR and Archie were still out, so I had a rather uncharacteristic burst of energy, and decided to go swimming (I use the term loosely) again!

And I realised that actually, the afternoons are much better (less busy) than mornings. So today I did actually swim! I did six lengths, four of them my specialist dead-slow-and-stop front crawl, and two my own mixed freestyle of doggie paddle/breast stroke. I count getting changed as part of my exercise - it’s SUCH an effort! I was there for about 40 minutes. I used to do twenty lengths (1,000 metres) in that time. Still, it’s a start.

Archie (all dogs, actually) is so cute when you ask him certain things. Here, the cuteness is exaggerated by the wide angle lens.
