A stormy day

We have had a terrific storm today, thunder, lightening and tropical rain bursts. The extra shows the scene during the storm when unfortunately two sets of neighbours caught a taxi to be driven over the mountains to the port to catch the ferry. They experienced lightening, waterfalls, rock falls on the road and streams and were soaked before getting into the taxi. Knowing the forecast we would have left the island yesterday and stayed overnight in Tenerife if we had been them. We had a brief pretty pink sky this evening. We managed a walk around the block earlier but even then it rained. We had a small water leak in the lounge on the ceiling so we were grateful we were here as it was dripping onto our cherry wood table. Years ago we had a problem with leaks in the same area and the roof tiles were repositioned but the force of the rain today must have dislodged something. Such heavy rain is a rare event but it can certainly rain when it has a mind.
