Lazy shadows

Two of the expected guests for the Grand Prix lunch cancelled at the last minute, so we ended up with just four of us. Dave and Alan were experiencing a GP lunch for the first time, so it was a bit disappointing that the Monaco Grand Prix turned into a rather boring procession. It was good to see Ferrari finish 3rd and 4th though. Hopefully this is a sign that they're finally getting their act together after a disastrous start to the season.

The weather was brilliant today; sunny and warm. The doors were thrown open front and back (not sure how the neighbours took to the noise, but we enjoyed it anyway). A pair from across the road joined in later on along with a friend of theirs who's over from the US for a few days. We had great fun, a lot of drink was drunk, much chat happened, and we even spilled out onto the street outside Carl's place. Our friend Dave took a fancy to my camera and shot off loads of stuff, including this attention-grabbing play of shadows on the footpath outside Carl's.

A great day, all in all, which somehow also turned into an advance celebration of my birthday which isn't actually until tomorrow. Thanks everyone for a fabulous time.
