Whit a Snowy Slester!

Various weathers today, calm, frost, rain, breeze, sunshine, sleet, wind, snow.

Up at 5am, and headed out to an early shift in the airport.  A mix of check-in desk, meeting and boarding flights, and sorting our onwards travel.  There's been various delays, due to weather on mainland UK airports, including our London City flight.  The drive home wasn't great, snowing like mad and couldn't see the road for some stretches.  Made it out walkies, met friend Julie, managed to stay dry, apart from our feet.  Off to bed early.

Shetland has been split into two different days today.  The south mainland has been sunny, mostly dry and no snow, yet north, well.  Anywhere further north of Quarff has been blizzard like conditions, and caused carnage on the roads for drivers, some even facing the threat of overnight in their cars.  There was a mad panic in the afternoon for commuters to get home, which added to the chaos.  Thankfully we weren't sent home early, by the time I was going home, the roads had cleared from stuck cars and made it without stopping.  Tonight is a different story again.  There's been some rain added to the snow, causing a utter slester (wet guttery mess), just hope it doesn't freeze like this.  A slester on New Street and Main Street, Scalloway.
