Day 9 in the hospital

This is a slightly late posting, although I know it’s still the 14th in lots of places.

I can’t say that we slept well, but Mum slept right through, even when the nurses came in to turn her, so it was a peaceful night.

Sister and brother arrived about 11:30am and we left around midday. Once home we had an apple and a coffee, then did some housework before showering and changing.  Son-in-law picked us up and we went to the office to pick up daughter.  It was the office Christmas drinks, so we had a glass of bubbles and a chat with one or two people, then piled into the car and drove to Morell’s Bistro in Remuera, where we had a delicious meal and a really lovely evening together.  It was our Christmas get-together, as daughter and son-in-law fly to the Caribbean on Monday for their long Christmas break.  It’s the only chance they have for a proper holiday.  The rest of the year they’re working 24/7.

After the meal they dropped us on Remuera Road, where we caught a bus to Mission Bay then the Tamaki Link home.  It was a very wet night but we had rain jackets with us, although we still got a bit wet.  As we arrived at the bus stop we saw this wonderful Christmas tree of lights.  It was completely bright white, just stunning.  However, by the time I got my iPhone out to take a photo, it had started a colour sequence and didn’t return to the glorious white lights by the time the bus arrived.  So a colourful blip it is.
