Stuff and Nonsense

Bank Vole

After some more baking to take down to London with us tomorrow, we had an hour or late in the afternoon at Pickering's Pasture. It was minus 2 degrees but absolutely beautiful in the late sunshine. We walked over to the far feeding station where the pool, unsurprisingly was completely frozen over. I put some seeds and nuts down but it really wasn't needed as the feeders were full and attracting some nice birds. But my blip for today had to be this tiny little field mouse bank vole that kept popping out to try and grab the droppings from one of the bird tables.
The light was lovely and with no wind, it was very pleasant despite the cold temperature.

There are a few more images in extras if you want to see a the bridge at the start of our walk with the Jubilee Beacon, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and the view from the screen over the frozen pool as the sun was going down. The landscapes are just iPhone shots as I didn't bring a wide lens with me.  I've still got a few extras left so might as well use them :)
