From Summerbank

Afternoon sunshine on old sandstone ..

Went out before 9 am for a newspaper. It's a long time since I walked on black ice, which is what happens when damp atmosphere meets freezing ground. Went rather slowly and cautiously along the unsalted pavements.

By 2 pm or so the ice had melted. Walked by Summerbank and Cornwallis Place to Inverleith Terrace, in at the West gate of the Botanics, around to the East gate, then back by Dundas Street. 4 C and a light wind.
