IT'S MOTORHEAD SUNDAY

An interesting race car is the Echidna.  Conceived and raised in Hibbing, Minnesota, it's basically a chopped up Corvette chassis and engine in an attempt to bring down its weight and increase its speed. I talked to one of the three co-creators and asked why it was named after an obscure, ant-eating Australian marsupial.  One of their wives offered up the Echidna name because she said it reminded her of an Echidna.

Well, I am a biologist by training and I know well the Echidna.....trust me, this looks nothing like one, except for the long, rakish nose which is an Echidna characteristic.
