Winter Monochrome: Bench and Tree in Snow

We are heading into the week before Christmas, and the local weather is to take a nose-dive starting Thursday morning, so plan accordingly, if you're expecting to travel. I have baking plans for the week that involve an apple pie and a bunch of cookies. But it isn't quite time for all of that yet.

I went on my daily walk through the streets behind our house, and I stopped to snap a photo of this bench and tree in the snow. Things look so stark already, and the days are short, but after this week, they will start getting longer again. Something to look forward to!!! A return to the light!
