New gallery in Stirling

What happens to empty shop spaces?

Well, I popped into our local shopping centre this afternoon to see the new art gallery launched by GOSSIP , the Stirling based artist collective.

This innovative project sponsored by Open Spaces aims at supporting the novel use of empty retail units.

It’s a groundbreaking venture for the town and the artists plan to use it to run workshops as well as exhibitions.

And the reaction from the public is favourable with many requesting details of forthcoming workshops.

One guy wrote in the Visitors Book:
“ This is the first time I have been into a gallery. It’s amazing.”
So it looks as if this artist venture is already reaching out to new audiences.
