Farewell to Sydney

Today it’s time to say farewell to Sydney as we board our ship for the journey to Auckland.

We take advantage of our late checkout before a very slow embarkation process with seemingly endless documents to check - primarily due to Covid precautions.

Once on the ship, there’s time to relax before the 7pm departure through the beautiful Sydney harbour - and for once the weather gods are with us! We stand on deck drinking champagne as the ship heads off under the Harbour Bridge, past the iconic sails of the Opera House, and out amongst the myriad of islands and inlets that make this one of the most  beautiful harbours in the world. And just before she heads out into the open sea, the sun sinks down behind the wooded hills.

Wi-Fi is decidedly unhelpful - unless we pay for the upgrade which I’m unwilling to do - so currently I’m unable to recycle my extras (I’ve finally run out!) or to access Flickr so it’s one shot only today! And even this has taken about half an hour to load!
