Winter Solstice Sun

Eight hours and two minutes - that's how long this shortest day of the year was, where we are (very close to the 50th parallel north).

I am looking forward to days with more light, even though it will take weeks before the days actually get longer by more than a few seconds or minutes.

Between paperwork, chores, grocery shopping and cooking, I managed to go for a walk, and enjoyed it a lot. I have missed getting out.

At 8°C, the air felt balmy, the sky was beautiful, and the mist rising from the wet soil made the villages look pretty, peaceful and a little mysterious.
