I don't think that's the right word for crumpets, which don't seem to exist as a concept here, except via an importer which also recently supplied the teacakes, pork pies, and - saved for Xmas - the turkey roast, mince pies, custard and festive fruit pudding. Translations of crumpet seemed to focus on words for ladies of easy virtue. These were very tasty, some with (sugar-free) jam and others with chunky peanut butter....
