Tulip fest

The tulips outside church looked lovely in the sunshine this morning. I love the unusual stripey ones - never seen any like this before. We had a good Ascension service today - but two of the hymns were soooo loooonnnggg, one being "Hail the day that sees him rise" - 6 verses with lots of Alleluias, Paul said it felt more like 12!! I sometimes find it hard to think about words when I'm struggling to sing something. Is it me, or are most hymns set too high? I'm going to be running the Clavinova recordings this evening, as we have no pianist for tonight. The sky is getting increasingly grey and I think we're in for some rain this afternoon.
