All in the Family

Anne and Harold have been friends since John and Harold met in college. We’ve been through all of life’s ups and downs together and we all consider each other family.

After the phone call from them from Eureka yesterday when they told us the power was out, we turned on the television and found out why. There was a 6.4 earthquake with its epicenter in Ferndale southeast of Eureka.

The drive through the redwoods in the dark and the fog was definitely not fun either. By the time they hit Santa Rosa, they were shattered and needed a bit of guidance to our house in the dark. Wine and food was gratefully received by all of us by the time they arrived after 12 hours.

Spike obviously considers them family too. I caught this picture as we were all heading to bed.

There is always catching up to be done and we did plenty of that all day today.
