Quod oculus meus videt

A Foggy Day

One of those rare days where it got foggier as the morning wore on.  I was out for a while and keeping my eye out for a blip.  This might not seem that remarkable but narrow boats are very rarely seen on this stretch of the Wyrley and Essington Canal.  I have walked it extensively over the years and while you may see some on permanent moorings, I've rarely passed one moving along.

In the old days there was an extension to the canal at this point (Sneyd Junction) that rose to serve a number of coal mines in the area.  Very little of the extension canal now remains, other than a slight linear depression, mainly overgrown.
