What price a Christmas tree?

As we recycle our tree from the garage where it lies for fifty  weeks of the year I thought back to yesterday blip by Flossmo.

She had just seen a Christmas tree in a local shop priced at
£1,299. Yes, she lives in a very wealthy part of southern England but still that does seem to be rather a lot of money.
 
What do you think? 

Learnt today that four houses in our road have had burst pipes during the recent cold spell. Thank goodness M is fussy about  house insulation, a subject I have scant interest in.  The recent mild winters have lulled us all into thinking that freezing pipes are just a distant memory.
But I feel for our neighbours. It’s been a horrid time for them.
