Succulent Floral Arrangement

This lovely little arrangement was delivered to our porch a couple of days ago from son Tim and family (although I'm sure it was probably Joni who made it happen)

We said goodbye to Anne and Harold this morning, not envying them their drive down to Southern California on the I-5. Especially since they will be repeating the whole trek in reverse to go home on Tuesday, staying with other friends in the East Bay.

Dan and Tobi didn't make it to coffee this morning because they had already begun their family festivities, and Maggie didn't make it because she was exhausted and staying in bed. We had a good time with Gail and Bob and stopped by the pet store on the way home for some Christmas presents for Blake and Spike.

John braved the supermarket for food for the next couple of days. He said every check-out line had ten people in it, it was a general madhouse and he had to park around the corner...his worst nightmare, but he seemed to have handled it quite well. I switched tomorrow's menu from bouillabaisse to posole because I didn't think John could hack the seafood line. Instead of the traditional Italian 7 fishes, we'll just switch to a Hispanic dish. Tamales are traditional Christmas Day fare, but we'll pretend that posole is a Christmas Eve tradition. Maybe it is now, in this household.

Feeling grateful tonight for our good health, good family and good friends.
