Turkey dinner

We get to Jol and Josie’s before one. The day is grey. There is precipitation. The roads are mainly empty.

It’s a jolly gathering. We have a glass of fizz to start, exchange gifts (mostly between Jol and Josie :), and move through to the kitchen for lunch.

They’ve laid on an amazing feast again - turkey with ALL the trimmings. There are even two gravies to choose between. When we’re done, there’s no space for pudding, so back to the living room for charades and Scrabble. And, eventually, pudding.

It’s bucketing down on the way home. In the dark. Huge puddles lurch out of the darkness, pulling the car to the left and throwing up spumes of water. But we make it.

Angus goes straight to bed. Mum works on an Ocado order. It has been a long day - and tomorrow will be longer. With an early start thrown in to boot.
