Fish

Black sesame crusted white fish (variety unspecified) with agrodolce and flambéed green onion, pumpkin purée, and white rice.

We had a surprisingly excellent lunch at the restaurant at the Oficina Francisco Brennand. Brennand was a ceramic artist from Recife, Brazil who is highly regarded in the area (he died in 2019). The Oficina housed his workshop and displays a number of his works, many of which are integrated into whimsical architecture around the property. It is in a rather out of the way spot, and like many touristy places, it overcharges (by local standards) for food. Unlike most tourist attractions, the food is superb. I followed up my entree with a cartola for dessert (a Brazilian dessert of queijo coalho, banana, brown sugar, and cinnamon, heated through - this version also had a crispy crepe garnish).
