Return to the North

Christmas 2.0

Not really Christmas again, but did drive over to bear Leeds today to meet up with these two and hand over Christmas presents.
We met up at The Arium garden centre cafe near Thorner! It was terrible weather so we headed straight to the cafe for lunch. Never again! The food was ridiculously priced for what it was. M here chose a child’s portion of pasta in tomato sauce (£4.95) and it was literally pasta and part of a tin of tomatoes! Definitely not a sauce! A had the chicken goujons m, Childs portion (she’s not quite 2!) it came on adult plate, the potato wedges were rock hard, the goujons tough as and a side salad with vinaigrette (for a child!) my panini was OK although at even more than the kids portion was small and came with nothing but a side salad. We then ordered a chocolate fondant with pouring cream and a tub of ice-cream to split between the kids - nope, run out of ice-cream and only clotted cream left, which neither child would likely eat! We were not impressed!!! My friend treat so I don’t know the actual cost but For two children and 2 adults I would guess somewhere around £40+ for shoddy food. Don’t think we will eat there again.
The kids were lovely, both a little shy at the beginning as haven’t seen them since October but soon warmed up and we had a good time, lots of playing with cars and some tickles on M. A also wanted up today and we had a good old chinwag while GraGra went to the loo with M (and no tears!!!)
